Hannah Lamb-Vines

i am sleepy hungry dummy all
day choking on smoke
signals from something
bigger than i am
asked to leave
politely                             with fire

pack up your
dandelions and

california speaks fire, i speak
leaving                   sniffing
snot up my smokey snout

california, your feelings
are valid
i’m listening.
