Rebecca Upton

about

Rebecca Upton started filling up journals as a child and started submitting to literary journals as a college student in 2013. She has taken courses in poetry, creative nonfiction, and flash fiction. She is very influenced by work that blends irony, self-awareness, vulnerability, and sincerity. She really dislikes writing in third person but that seems to be what everyone does for these things so she started doing that too and old habits die hard or whatever.

Breaking third person to say that while I feel my current writing style has strayed from the style of many of these pieces, I wanted a page to showcase my growth over the years, and for anyone to enjoy if my older writing is their thing, and to thank the literary magazines who helped me gain more confidence in myself as a writer.
